Steve Datnow

Steve Datnow

Steve Datnow is the founder of OC5 Ventures.  He headed west to the Silicon Valley in the early 90s to seek his fortune and has never left.  


In 2014,  Steve founded OrgChart5 Inc. in order to deliver the next generation of SaaS visualization solutions to HR professionals. Steve grew his company from 0 to over 1,500 customers in 6 years. In 2021, OrgChart5 Inc. merged with OfficeWork Software. The merged entity was then acquired by Lock8 Partners.  


From 2004 to 2012, Steve was CTO at HumanConcepts and was responsible for the OrgPlus product line prior to its acquisition by Insperity in 2011. HumanConcepts was subsequently acquired by Cornerstone in 2012. 


Prior to working on software for HR Professionals, Steve spent 10 years developing software for medical professionals at Cemax-Icon (acquired by Imation in 1997) and Cbyon (acquired by GE in 2004). Steve started his career as a software engineer at Apple after graduating from Georgia Tech with a BS in Computer Science.


Steve lives just north of San Francisco in beautiful Marin County with his wife, four children and two dogs.
